We recommend having your jewelry cleaned every few months to keep it looking its best. For items you wear often—like rings and earrings—more frequent cleanings, about once a month, are recommended. These pieces tend to collect oils, dirt, and everyday grime more quickly due to regular wear.

AT HOME:

For the best results, we recommend using the jewelry cleaners and cloths we offer—they're specially formulated for cleaning specific types of jewelry. However, in a pinch, you can mix warm water with a drop or two of mild dish soap. Soak water-safe pieces in this solution for about 20 minutes.

Then, gently scrub the stones and metal with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Once your piece regains its sparkle, rinse it under warm running water to remove any residue.

 

AVOID:

While many gemstones can be safely cleaned at home, some require extra care to avoid damage. As a general rule, avoid "old wive's tale" methods which usually include harsh chemicals like bleach, vinegar, peroxide or chlorine, and never use ammonia-based cleaners on organic gems like pearls.
