Dare to be Different – Unique Proposal Ideas More Popular Than Ever Before!
Posted on March 06 2017
Once upon a time, there was one vision of the perfect proposal: one’s swain got down on one knee in a picturesque setting, proffering the engagement ring in a lovely box…we’re sure you’ve seen this type of thing at least once or twice! Today, romantics have options. Marriage proposals can certainly be very traditional – and Stamford has some of the most beautiful scenic proposal sites in New England – but you can also create something quirky and uniquely yours.
Timing is Everything!
Winter proposals are very popular in Connecticut. Christmas Eve is the most popular day to propose, followed pretty closely by New Year’s Eve. That’s when to pop the question if you want to be trendy. Prefer to go your own way? Choose a date that’s meaningful to the two of you. Or consider giving a lesser known holiday some love. This year, Arbor Day is Friday, April 28th!
Go to the Garden for Romantic Wedding Proposal
With over 90 acres of manicured grounds, gorgeous flowerbeds, and meandering pathways with scenic views in abundance, the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens in Stamford is one of the best possible places to propose marriage. Love the beach? Cove Island Park is lovely – just keep one eye on the weather forecast! One of our favorite couples’ proposal story happened in Scalzi Park – he popped the question while they were watching their son play baseball. Fair to say that was a home run!
Sweets for Your Sweet? Tell Us S’mores!
One twist on the traditional marriage proposal is fun and tasty. Couples from coast to coast are using S’mores to present the engagement ring. A S’more, of course, is a combination of graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow.
It’s a sweet idea, and has definitely also been tried with cupcakes, cheesecake slices, and ice cream sundaes over the years. Make sure to snap a picture of your presentation!
