Authenticity Above All Else: NY Fashion Week Looks You’ll Love

While this year’s New York Fashion Week is making headlines for being far more political than is usual, we here at NAGI Jewelers were absolutely fascinated by the trends top jewelry designers chose to showcase. Big, bold, and gold are the keywords to keep in mind for 2017, with a special focus on sparkly earrings too dramatic to ignore.
Wrists That Wow
Marco Bicego bracelet
Whether the model was wearing the most casual, fun ensemble or an over-the-top evening gown, this season the must-have accessory is a dramatic statement bracelet. Gold, geometric bracelets predominated, in both cuff and bangles – surprisingly oversized bracelets in twisted colorful resins also had a strong showing. The stackable trend continues, although the narrow gem bands and charm bracelets worn in number has given way to two or three bolder bracelets worn together.
The Marco Bicego bracelet shown is a great example. The Lunaria Cuff is 18K yellow gold. The compelling texture draws in the eye and is perfectly on trend. Dramatic worn alone, its versatile classic design means it pairs well with others as well.
Roberto Demeglio BraceletFine jewelry designers are embracing a wider range of materials. Roberto Demeglio shows how this is done with his Aura bracelet, which combines gold plated and black ceramic tiles. Dramatic and so very wearable, the Aura bracelet is versatile enough to work with even the most diverse wardrobe – budget friendly too, which is always nice.

Extravagant EarringsFor a classy cluster style, combine your favorite colored gemstone with surrounding rows of diamonds, pearls or crystals. Many designers went with monotone versions of this look, matching the center stone with side stones in the same color family – whites, blues and green tones being most common, although there were warmer flashes of golden topaz, pink morganite and sunny citrine to be seen. There are more than 2 carats worth of blue topaz in these stud earrings by NAGI. The checkerboard cut catches the light beautifully, with the surrounding sparkle of .33 tctw of clear round diamonds taking everything to the next level.
Extravagant Earrings
Over the top earrings dominated runways during fashion week. There are two top approaches: cluster style earrings, combining pearls, diamonds, and colored gemstones in rounded, bold forms, and extravagantly long earrings– shoulder brushers! – that absolutely drip with sparkling crystals.
The best example of the luxurious cascading sparkle we carry is this pair of Memoire Bouquet Diamond Drop Earrings. They’re 1 ½ inches long, which means they ride very comfortably at a mid-neck length – long enough to attract attention, without any worries about wear ability. These are white gold; you can also get these show stoppers in yellow gold and platinum. A NAGI exclusive.
