This is the first carbon fiber-reinforced resin monocoque case in the 5000 line. The integrated form of the case back, delivering high strength, airtightness, and weight reduction, is achieved using the high-precision molding technology of Yamagata Casio. Also, components like the inner ring and buttons are made with titanium, and the glass with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Passionate attention to materials is shown down to the most intricately shaped components to deliver strength and light weight.
Multilayer carbon with high bending strength
Meticulous attention to use of carbon materials extends to clasp components. The clasp’s folding arm is made in a three-dimensional form with multilayer carbon, which has a high degree of longitudinal bending strength. The clasp cover is made with forged carbon, just like the band.
Two color schemes expressing innovation into uncharted territory
The design highlights the unique textural look of the forged carbon material, combining the G-SHOCK never-ending commitment to innovation with the image of unfathomable, infinite expanse of outer space. A unique worldview created by the random arrangement of carbon-fiber pieces expresses the appearance of the Milky Way’s hazy band of light. Two color options are offered: the GCWB5000UN-1 is clad in a pattern of mixed black and grey, while the GCWB5000UN-6 combines black carbon fiber with blue and pink colored resin and opal specks for a mysterious appearance.
Note: Individual Differences in Products
Due to the characteristics of forged carbon, a composite material produced by molding a mixture of carbon fiber and resin, there are individual differences in the pattern, color tone, and distribution/amount of opal specks on the surface of each part (bezel, band, and clasp) for each timepiece.
*Opal specks are not included in the clasp components.
