Introducing the MRGB5000, based on the first-ever G-SHOCK and crafted with the state-of-the-art metals and meticulous finishes that are the hallmark of the MR-G flagship line. A study in metal craftsmanship, this breakthrough timepiece features case and bezel components made with the super-hard titanium alloy, Ti64. The bezel top is fashioned from COBARION, an alloy that is four times harder than pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum.
The bezel alone consists of 25 different components, each individually polished for a stunning detailed texture. The Multi-Guard Structure incorporates flat springs and silicone buffers to ensure outstanding shock absorption for this multi-component bezel, protecting the dedicated MR-G module with a gold-plated retainer plate for the circuit board.
In homage to the original DW5000C-1B, one of the color options for the very first G-SHOCK, the dial projects an iconic brick pattern and circular lines in gold color, while the case is finished in a black DLC coating.
This design is complemented with an extremely comfortable Dura Soft band made of fluoro rubber, with insert-molding of titanium components that enhance the strength of the band’s connection to the case.
The top of the band is finished with textured SHOCK RESIST symbols, and the underside echoes the dial’s brick pattern. This beautiful watch celebrates the splendor of metal and also delivers when it comes to function, with radio-controlled calibration and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth®. *COBARION® is a registered trademark of the Iwate Industry Promotion Center and is manufactured exclusively by Eiwa Corporation.
Function-wise, the MRGB5000 also features a special-purpose MR-G module with gold-plated circuit retainer plates to reduce electrical resistance and is also equipped with time signal reception and Bluetooth® communication capabilities for smartphone connectivity.
